We Are Stems Ltd.

I am currently developing the project STEMS with the help of the Arts Council.

STEMS is a participatory, immersive music experience for events and creative practice. Participation requires no training, and STEMS is adaptable for social distancing.

Music is commissioned for events, then composed and mixed to 10 channels (stems). Each stem is played on 1 of 10 ‘backpack speakers’ worn by participants – independently mobile, but unified by the music. The audience experience depends on the playfulness of the participants. Perhaps the music weaves through the crowd, or is focused in a space, with audience and participants immersed in sound.

STEMS is a unifying, empowering experience for participants and audience alike.

In December last year, I decided that 2020 was going to be the year of MIDI. Throughout the year, I’ve been exploring electronic music, and putting out some edgy tunes. Funky, funny and a little odd. On the 31st December I’ll be releasing an album of my music from 2020.

Here’s an example…

Dumb Luck – the accidental admission of an idiot into paradise…

In 2019 I completed my story ‘A New Leaf’. I’m bringing storytelling, poetry and songs to this project, delivering an important message to young and old.
